Sharp metal spiked weapon for throwing in the pathway of pursuers. Often the tips were poisoned. Natural caltrops used were the spiked shells of the water chestnut fruit. Also known as tetsubishi.

Chiba prefecture
Home of Dr Masaaki Hatsumi, the present grandmaster of the Tokagure ninjutsu system.

Chunin
Literally means.'middle person'. The second of the three military ranks in the ninja hierarchy. The chunin set the mission for the field ninja to carry out, and was ultimately responsible for its success.

Ninja method of acting like the 'wind'. Fu is a method of fighting in the ninja body art of taijutsu and is characterized by harmonious interaction with other elements. It gives the user of the fu approach the appearance of being everywhere at the same time.

Ninja clenched fist used for punching and striking body targets.

Fukiya
Pins and poisoned darts shot through a blow-gun at an unsuspecting enemy. Greatly used by many of the ninja clans during stealth activities.
